Step By Step Process To Make Easy Cinnamon Bread Recipe

Mixing Dry Ingredients

First, we’ll start with the dry ingredients.

  1. In a bowl, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour. This is the bread’s base, giving it the fluffy texture we all enjoy.
  2. Next, we’ll add 1 cup of granulated sugar to sweeten the bread. This is what gives it that delightful sweetness.
  3. Then, we’ll add ½ cup of light brown sugar, providing a deeper flavor to the bread.
  4. Now, let’s add baking soda. Baking soda is what helps the bread rise.
  5. Lastly, we’ll include ¾ teaspoon of salt. Although small, salt is important in baking; it balances the sweetness and improves the overall flavor.

Mixing Wet Ingredients

  1. We’ll move on to the wet ingredients once all the dry ingredients are ready. In the meantime, we’ll crack 2 eggs into our mixer. Eggs add moisture and richness, helping to keep everything together.
  2. Next, we’ll pour in ½ cup of oil—I prefer canola oil for this, but you can use any oil you like. The oil helps keep the bread moist and delicious!
  3. Then, we’ll add 1 cup of buttermilk. It not only adds moisture but also gives the bread a tangy flavor.
  4. Next, we’ll include ¼ cup of water for a bit of extra hydration, and to finish off, we’ll add one teaspoon of vanilla extract. This will give our bread a lovely aroma and a touch of sweetness.
  5. Now, let’s mix everything together well. Move the mixer slowly; this will help blend everything nicely and combine all the ingredients thoroughly.

Preparing the Loaf Pan

While the batter is getting ready, you can prepare your loaf pan. Whenever I try this recipe with the exact quantities, I use a 9×5-inch loaf pan, which is perfect for this recipe.

Problem: Sometimes, the bread can stick to the bottom of the pan, and when we try to remove it, it can break apart.

Solution: To avoid this, place a piece of parchment paper at the bottom to eliminate that issue. Plus, it keeps the pan cleaner and makes cleanup much easier later on.

After that, I also spray the sides with cooking spray. While this step isn’t essential, if you have it on hand, definitely use it. It helps the bread come out smoothly without sticking or breaking.

How To Layering The Batter Of Cinamon Bread

We’ll skim about half the batter into the loaf pan when our pan is ready. It doesn’t require you to be precise; a reasonable halfway mark should be good enough.

Now, this layer will be the base for our delicious cinnamon swirl. Now, we are ready to make our cinnamon mixture.

In a bowl, we’ll combine ⅓ cup of brown sugar with 1½ teaspoons of ground cinnamon. This is where the real magic of flavor begins.

You need to blend these ingredients, breaking up any lumps in the brown sugar until you have a smooth mixture. Once it’s ready, sprinkle half of this mixture over the batter.

Remaining Batter

  • After that, we’ll pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon sugar mixture, but be careful not to disturb the layers underneath. We want to keep the bottom layers disturbed.

Best Cinnamon Bread Recipe Swirling Process

The best way to create a swirl pattern in bread is with a potato masher gently pushing down and turning the batter. Fall straight down, back up, and over to the other end to make distinct swirls. Make sure not to mix over to keep the layers clear.

  • Drizzling the Butter

After that, when we are set with the swirling, we pour 2 tablespoons of melted butter over the top of the batter. This step is important! The key here is that the butter adds great flavor and creates a nice, crunchy texture on the bread as it bakes. Dab it with a spoon and drizzle it all over so that it spreads all over it.

How to Bake Cinnamon Bread

Now we’re ready to bake! Preheat your oven to 350°F. When it’s heated, carefully put your loaf pan in the oven.

We’ll bake the bread for about 45 to 50 minutes. Usually, I start checking it at the 45-minute mark.

  • When you stick a toothpick in the middle of the loaf, and it comes out clean, we know it’s done. If it’s still wet, don’t worry. Keep adding a few extra minutes and check.

The bread should take about an hour to bake all the way through, but staying on top of things is good regardless of the oven.

Cooling Process

After the bread is nicely baked, we will take it out and let it cool, still in the pan, for about 10 minutes. This brief cooling time allows the loaf to set up and makes it easier to handle.

Then, cut carefully from the pan, lowering it onto a wire rack to cool. Your kitchen will be filled with an aroma that will be heavenly.
