Step-By-Step Process to Make Easy Sicilian Chicken Spaghetti
Boil & Drain Spaghetti
Boil salt water in a separate pot. Add the spaghetti and boil it according to the instructions on the packet, but for one minute less. For example, if the packet says 7 minutes, boil it for 6 minutes.
This will keep it a little firm, and it won’t become soggy when it cooks further. After that, drain it and set it aside for later use.
Cook Chicken
Chicken breast should be seasoned with salt and pepper on both sides. You can add cuts to the chicken with a knife for proper & best seasoning. Take a large pan and heat it on high heat. Add the meat and sear both sides for about 2 minutes.
Just turn off the flame when a light golden brown texture appears, and then shred the chicken.
How To Make The Sauce For Sicilian Chicken Spaghetti
- Add Olive Oil
First, add the remaining tablespoon. Olive oil to the same skillet you used for the chicken. Leftover chicken cooking will leave behind flavours that this oil will pick up. It improves the entire taste of the dish. Warm the oil over medium heat until it becomes hot but not smoking.
Sauté Garlic
After collecting the oil, put the minced garlic into the pan. It sautés for 15 seconds or so, stirring a lot. The idea is to cook the garlic until it turns fragrant but not brown, as burnt garlic can be bitter. During this step, keep a close eye on it to make sure it cooks evenly.
- Deglaze with Drink (Optional)
If you will add any drink, add it after the garlic has sautéed into the skillet. This step is deglazing.
Remember: Once the ingredients are finished cooking, use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits that may have accumulated at the bottom of the skillet; these pieces will give you a richness of flavour in your sauce.
Leave it to simmer for 1 minute or so. That will cook off the alcohol, leaving the nice taste of the drink.
Remaining Process For Best Chicken Spaghetti Recipe
Combine Ingredients (Pasta And Sauce)
When all that drink has simmered, it’s time to add your other ingredients. Mash the tomatoes, pour in the water, and add the sliced black olives, marinated artichokes, red pepper flakes, salt, & pepper.
Give it all a good stir until everything is thoroughly mixed & combined. That will produce a flavorful base for the sauce.
After combining all ingredients, reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for roughly five minutes.
Add the shredded pasta to the sauce and stir. Directly add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sauce and stir; this will combine all the ingredients and balance the taste. This combining process takes about 1 minute.
- Serve: Add freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top & serve immediately.
Can I make this recipe with gluten-free spaghetti?
Yes, you can prepare Sicilian chicken spaghetti with gluten-free spaghetti. You will find many companies that make pasta from rice, corn, or quinoa. This is a perfect option for such dishes.
Just keep one thing in mind: when you buy the packet, make sure to read the instructions once. Because, from my experience, the cooking time for gluten-free pasta is different from traditional wheat pasta.
Is it Okay to Refrigerate Sicilian Chicken Spaghetti?
Yes, it can be stored. If you want to store it for 5 days, you can keep it in an airtight container & place it in the fridge. However, for long-term storage, like 2-3 months, put it in a good airtight container and freeze it.
Make sure to keep it in a place where its position doesn’t need to be changed frequently. Try to finish it within 3 months.
Reheating Method
When you want to reheat it, simply place the dish in the microwave, cover it well with foil, & heat it in the oven until it generates moisture. But check the texture before eating it for the first time.

I would definitely recommend that if you like spaghetti, you should try the easy Sicilian Chicken Spaghetti recipe. You can make it healthier by adding more vegetables according to your choice.
